The Political Science Department offers several degree programs, including a bachelor's degree in either Political Science or Public Administration, as well as separate Master's degrees in Public Administration and Global Studies. The Department also offers a graduate Certificate of Public Management and a joint Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security and Defense.

Dr. Kevin Pybas Recognized as
Outstanding Pre-Law Faculty Advisor
Dr. Kevin Pybas, Associate Professor of Political
Science, is the recipient of the 2010 Phi Alpha Delta
National Award for Outstanding Pre-law Faculty Advisor.
Dr. Pybas was chosen from among hundreds of Chapter
advisors across the Country. This award is a
reflection of the commitment and dedication of Dr. Pybas
in mentoring students who are contemplating careers in
the legal profession. Phi Alpha Delta is the national,
preeminent law fraternity designed to advance the legal
profession.
The MSU Chapter was recently recognized as one of
the top three Chapters in the Country, topped only by
the University of California, Berkeley.
The
Political Science Department is saddened
by the sudden and unexpected death of
one of its alumni,
Bryan Fawks, an assistant professor
of Political Science at Lincoln
University
in Jefferson City.

The Missouri State University Poll Research Center uses a professionally trained research staff to conduct survey research through the Center for Social Science and Public Policy Research on the campus of Missouri State University. The Center also conducts Internet, focus group, and mail-based research on questions of political and social interest. The Center partners with non-profit, community, business, and media outlets to collect information of public interest and for the public good.
